Second day of Alberta Scotties continues at Medicine Hat Curling Club

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The second day of the 2018 Alberta Scotties is well underway, with several draws wrapping up.

In the A – event, Shannon Kleibrink, who represented Alberta at last year’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts, was defeated by Chelsea Carey 7-5 in a match Thursday morning.

Val Sweeting was victorious over Casey Scheidegger 9-6 in the morning draw, and will face Carey tonight at 6:30 p.m. to determine the A- qualifier.

In the B event, Jodi Marthaller was defeated for the second time in the tournament, falling 8-7 to the Delia DeJong rink. The loss bumps Marthaller to the C event.

DeJong will face Marla Sherrer, who defeated Amanda Craigie’s rink 10-7.

Nadine Scotland’s rink defeated Jessie Hunkin’s team 9-5, and will face Kleibrink tonight.

Finally, Laura Crocker’s rink defeated Geri-Lynn Ramsay’s team 7-5, and will face Scheidegger.

The next draw begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Medicine Hat Curling Club.
