MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers have made their first move ahead of Wednesday’s Western Hockey League Trade Deadline.

The Tigers announced Tuesday afternoon they’ve acquired Elijah Brown from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for a second round draft pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft and a conditional third-round pick in 2019.

Brown, who was selected in the first round of the 2015 Bantam Draft by the Thunderbirds, has scored six goals and 14 assists over 80 games since 2016.

The Tigers also announced on Tuesday that they have traded the rights to Cameron MacPhee to the Prince George Cougars for a 7th round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

The Tigers announced MacPhee was released by the team in November. The team did not elaborate on the reason for the release, but said he went home to deal with a personal matter.

MacPhee had one goal and assist over 36 games with the Tigers.
