Police arrest two suspects and charges are pending in two Lethbridge assaults

LETHBRIDGE – Police have two suspects in custody and charges are pending in a pair of north side assaults in Lethbridge on Friday, Jan. 5.

Officers were first called to an assault at a four-plex in the 1000-block of 27-A Street North just before 6:30 a.m. 

A 23-year-old man, who was reported to have been assaulted inside a residence, was taken to hospital with non life-threatening stab wounds.
 
A male and female suspect had already fled the home before police arrived. However, they were located later in the morning when police were called to another assault in the 600 block of Stafford Drive North, after an injured woman was located inside a home. The suspects were taken into custody. The female suspect was treated by EMS for a lacerated hand, while the female victim remains in hospital.

Police continue to investiate all the circumstances but, indicate it involves a domestic situation, in which case no names will be released to protect the identity of the victims.
