Hat High Kwahommies win first game of basketball season

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat High School Kwahommies girls basketball team started their season on a winning note Wednesday night.

Hosting the Catholic Central High School Cougars, the senior varsity team were down 39-36 at the half, but managed to comeback in the second half, winning 75-72.

Bretonnie Stenhouse led the Kwahommies with 21 points, followed by Rhiannon Ware with 19 and Brooklyn Kaczynski with 14.

Jadan Thomas and Alex Pasquotti scored more than half of the Cougars points through the game. Thomas recorded 25 points, while Pasquotti scored 23.
