Toth wins NHRA Motorcycle Championship

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A local drag racer has wrapped up his season with a national championship after a successful series of races last week.

Motorcycle racer Riley Toth was victorious at the Auto Club NHRA Finals, held November 9-12th in Pomona, California, coming home with a cash prize and a Wally trophy.

Competing in theMotorcycle class alongside seven of the top drivers in the country, Toth made it to the finals, where he finished with a 8.605 seconds. Toth’s defeated the defending national champion Curtis Spracklin in the final race, with Spracklin finishing with a time of 8.614 seconds.

To qualify for the NHRA, Toth had to finish in the Top 6 in his class at the Medicine Hat Drag Racing Association. He finished first this season, qualifying for the NHRA Division 6 ET finals in Woodburn, Oregon in September, where he finished in first place in his class.
