Airdrie RCMP say “abduction attempts” are false

AIRDRIE, ALTA- There are rumours going around a Calgary-area community about attempted abductions of children that the R-C-M-P would like to put to rest.

Mounties in Airdrie got two reports last weekend about someone trying to take kids, but investigators concluded nothing happened.

Since then, numerous social media posts report suspicious encounters with unknown people — folks the police say are just law-abiding citizens going about their business.

R-C-M-P say they would rather have people come to them if they have concerns, rather than going online.
