EDMONTON, AB. – Alberta Education says it’s working with Edmonton Public Schools to make its Arabic language curriculum available across the province for the 2018-19 school year.

The province says a version of the K-to-12 Arabic program that’s been offered in Edmonton will be available for other school authorities next school year.

Education Minister David Eggen says the government recognizes the economic and academic benefits of proficiency in more than one language.

The province says Arabic bilingual programming is the fastest growing language program within Edmonton Public Schools.
