QMJHL Roundup: Baribeau perfect as Remparts win shut out Olympiques 3-0

QUEBEC — Dereck Baribeau stopped all 19 shots he faced as the Quebec Remparts shut out the Gatineau Olympiques 3-0 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Olivier Garneau, Austin Eastman and Derek Gentile supplied the offence as the Remparts (4-0-0).

Mathieu Bellemare turned away 34 shots for Gatineau (1-1-1).

The Remparts went 1 for 7 on the power play. The Olympiques went 0 for 1 with the man advantage.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Alexandre Alain scored the winner with 5:08 left to play as the Armada slipped past Val-d’Or.

Joel Teasdale also scored for Blainville-Boisbriand (2-1-0).

Nicolas Ouellet scored for the Foreurs (1-3-1).

Val-d’Or’s Tyler Higgins was given a match penalty for fighting at 6:46 of the second period.

PHOENIX 4 SAGUENEENS 2

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Vincent Lampron had the eventual winner near the midway point of the game as the Phoenix doubled Chicoutimi.

Yann-Felix Lapointe, Felix Robert and Nicolas Poulin also scored for Sherbrooke (2-1-1).

Kelly Klima and Felix-Antoine Marcotty scored for the Sagueneens (0-3-1).

MOOSEHEADS 4 TITAN 3

HALIFAX — Filip Zadina scored twice as the Mooseheads defeated Acadie-Bathurst.

Arnaud Durandeau had the game-winning goal for Halifax (3-1-0) at 9:32 of the third period. Benoit-Olivier Groulx also scored.

Samuel L’Italien, Jeffrey Truchon-Viel and Justin Ducharme scored for the Titan (2-1-2).

Acadie-Bathurst’s Antoine Morand was given a match penalty for checking to the head at 5:23 of the second period.

WILDCATS 2 ISLANDERS 1

MONCTON, N.B. — Mika Cyr put away the winner at 3:33 of the third period as the Wildcats downed Charlottetown.

Jakob Pelletier also scored for Moncton (3-1-0). 

William Bower scored for the Islanders (1-3-0).

VOLTIGEURS 8 DRAKKAR 5

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Robert Lynch had a hat trick the Voltigeurs cruised past Baie-Comeau.

Pavel Koltygin struck twice for Drummondville (3-1-0), while Nicolas Guay, Dawson Mercer and Yvan Mongo rounded out the attack.

Ivan Chekhovich had a pair of goals for the Drakkar (1-2-0), while Gabriel Fortier, Antoine Girard and Jordan Martel chipped in as well.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — James Phelan scored three times to power the Tigres past Rouyn-Noranda.

Chase Harwell, Mathieu Sevigny, Alexandre Grise and Pascal Laberge chipped in for Victoriaville (4-0-0).

Jacob Neveu, Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Alex Beaucage and Tyler Hinam scored for the Huskies (4-1-0).

Rouyn-Noranda’s Neveu was given a match penalty for fighting at 8:47 of the third period.
