Trial date set for man charged with running bicycle chop shop

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The man arrested and charged last month for allegedly running a bicycle chop shop in a city home is going to trial next year.

Darcy Fischer, 35, set a date for a trial on Thursday at Medicine Hat provincial court. It is scheduled to take place on January 30, 2018 at Medicine Hat provincial court.

Fischer was arrested on August 24 at a home on Pottery Street Southeast on August 24. following an investigation through the month. Police seized 15 whole bicycles and many bicycles parts in the home. Police estimated the value of the seized property at $3,000.

Fischer was charged with possession of stolen property and trafficking in stolen property. He entered not guilty pleas on the charges earlier this week.
