INTERVIEWS: No shortage of experience on Rattlers golf team

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Three two-day tournaments on back-to-back-to-back weekends, with a potential trip to the CCAA Golf National Championship just over a month away.

It’s overwhelming enough to see it on paper, let alone be the one teeing it up.

But Rattlers head golf coach Trevor Moore believes he has a strong enough team to turn the ACAC’s “sprint season” into a banner performance.

It begins with a wealth of experience, seeing five players are returning to the Desert Blume links after successful seasons last year.

The newcomers and rookies are hardly considered as such — Matt Taylor competed under Moore for two seasons before spending two years at the University of Lethbridge, and first-year Sierra Zukowski is following in her older siblings footsteps by throwing on the black and gold.

CHAT TV caught up with Moore, along with the two newcomers to the team, to get their thoughts on a jam-packed season, and how it feels to represent Medicine Hat College among the best ACAC golfers in the province.

The Rattler first event, the ACAC North Conference Tournament, takes place September 15-16 at the Camrose Golf Club before welcoming teams from all over the province to Desert Blume GC on September 23-24.
