BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits have made a move involving one of their pending 20-year-old players, shipping netminder Alex Horawski to Atlantic Canada.

On Saturday, the Bandits moved the ‘97 born Horawski to the Maritime Hockey League’s Valley Wildcats in exchange for future considerations.

Spending the 2016-17 season as the backup to Brooks starter Mitch Benson, Horawski posted a 13-2-0 record, a 1.65 goals against average, and a .917 save percentage in 16 games.

Horawski ranked first in the entire AJHL in goals against average, while he shared the AJHL’s Top Team Goaltenders Award with Benson.

Brooks has Benson and Bailey Brkin as eligible goaltenders to play for the team in the 2017-18 campaign.

The Bandits open training camp at Centennial Regional Arena on August 25, and will face off against the Okotoks Oilers in pre-season action on August 29.
