Medicine Hat Tigers forward Shaw and former Brooks Bandits defender Makar were both in the lineup for the Canadians.

Shaw was placed on a wing with Sam Steel and Jordan Kyrou, while Makar anchored Canada’s third defensive pairing with Jake Bean.

Makar assisted on Canada’s fourth goal of the game in the third period from Steel, while Shaw was held off the score sheet.

Shaw finished the tournament with a pair of assists in three games, while Makar had one goal and one assist in a trio of games.

Tigers defenceman David Quenneville was a scratch for Team Canada on Saturday, he had one assist in two games.

Forward Max Gerlach was also a healthy scratch for Team USA, after torching the tournament for three goals and four points in five games.
