More roadwork set to begin, this time in River Flats

Aug 7, 2017 | 7:00 AM

Medicine Hat, AB.- The summer of road construction continues with storm sewer rehabilitation work starting Tuesday August 8th in the River Flats neighborhood.

The work will be on Allowance Avenue S.E. between Second and Third Streets.  During construction, Allowance Avenue will be closed through the work zone.

Another storm sewer rehabilitation project is scheduled to begin along Elm Street S.E.  This will mean closure of the west end of Elm Street S.E. but will not impact traffic to Maple Avenue or North Railway Street.

The rehabilitation projects include removal and replacement of existing storm sewer pipes, manholes and catch basins.  Some of this infrastructure is between 6o to 100 years old and has reached the end of its service life.

Work at both locations should continue to the end of October, depending on the weather.
