CALGARY — Calgary police have arrested a man who was spotted with a person of interest in the quadruple murder in Calgary earlier this month, and say the woman they’re searching for may be hiding in eastern Canada

Police were searching for Diana Liao, 24, and an unknown black male in connection with the deaths of Glynnis Fox, Tiffany Ear, Cody Pfeiffer and Hanock Afowerk. Fox, Ear and Pfeiffer were found dead in a burnt-out vehicle in the Sage hill Neighbourhood on July 10, while Afowerk, the registered owner of the car, was found dead near Highway 22 and Highway 8 two days later.

Calgary police announcing today Tewodros Mutugeta Kebede, 25, was arrested in Toronto on unrelated charges on July 18. Kebede was the man travelling with Liao, according to police.

Liao, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for fraud on unrelated charges, was last seen in Moose Jaw on July 20. Calgary Police believe she is in either Ontario or Quebec, and may have died her hair and changed her appearance.

Liao is believed to have had a relationship with Afowerk, but police are not elaborating on the nature of their relationship.

Police believe multiple people may have been involved, and continue to investigate the crime.
