Air Quality Advisory

Jul 17, 2017 | 5:50 AM

Medicine Hat, AB. – Alberta Health Services and Environment Canada are both advising people in Southern Alberta, of potential health risks associated with the smoke drifting in from wildfires in the mountains and interior of B.C.

The risk is higher for people with breathing problems or heart conditions.

Environment Canada says wearing a mask is not the best way to protect yourself from the smoke – and may lead to a false sense of security.

On a scale of 1 to 10, Environment Canada says today’s air quality index is forecast to reach 7, which is in the high risk area.
