Bayer recalls laxative over choking hazard: Health Canada

OTTAWA — A laxative sold at Costco locations across the country is being recalled due to a choking hazard.

Bayer Inc. Is performing a voluntary recall of its RestoraLAX 45+10 Value Pack, saying the product may contain deposits of clumps and lumps, which could cause users to choke if they use it.

The product is used to relieve irregularity and constipation. It is sold as a combination pack of one bottle and a one box of single dose sachets, and is only available at Costco Canada.

Health Canada advises Canadians to stop using the product, and seek immediate medical attention if they experience difficulty swallowing or breathing after taking the product.
