CFB Suffield starts second live-fire training exercise

RALSTON, AB — Members of the British Army Training Unit Suffield will continue with live-fire training for another month.

Prairie Storm 2 got underway today at CFB Suffield, and runs until July 23. Training activities will happen intermittently within the range and training area during the time period. Activities will occur day and night.

Those within proximity of the base may hear loud noises and observe weapons effects resulting from the exercises.

CFB Suffield is reminding the public to not pick up or handle ammunition, such as bombs, grenades or artillery shells, and the items should not be moved or disturbed if discovered. Residents should call the Medicine Hat Police Service (403-529-8481) or their nearest police department if these items are discovered.

Those who wish to travel on the portion of the South Saskatchewan River which runs through the base are asked to contact CFB Suffield Range Control (403-544-4310) to confirm the dates with unrestricted access.
