Funnel cloud advisory issued for southeastern Alberta communities
Conditions in southeastern Alberta will be favourable for the development of funnel clouds today.
According to Environment Canada, a weather disturbance over central Alberta will maintain an unstable airmass over the region.
Funnel clouds could appear from rapidly developing clouds in the early afternoon, from the Lloydminster and Coronation regions, heading west into the Drumheller and Brooks areas.
“These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms,” reads the advisory.
