MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Brooks Bandits are one game away from having a shot at being named the best Junior A team in the country.

Saturday night the Western Canada Cup champions will square off against the Terrebonne Cobras in the second half of RBC Cup semi-final action in Cobourg, ON.

In their round-robin game to open up the tournament Brooks doubled Terrebonne 6-3 after scoring five first period goals.

The Bandits finished second in the standings with a 3-1 record while the third place Cobras finished two points back of Brooks by going 2-0-2 in their four placement games.

Brooks enters Saturday’s contest sporting a +9 goal differential in the national championship tournament, thanks in large part to a record setting 8-0 thrashing of Trenton in their second last round-robin contest.

The day’s first semi-final will see host Cobourg take on Penticton at 12:30 pm MST.

Puck drop between Brooks and Terrebonne meanwhile is scheduled for 5:30 pm MST
