RED DEER, AB – The Medicine Hat Sun Devils (3-6) wrapped up their road trip in Red Deer on Sunday afternoon, as they tried to rebound from a 16-10 loss to Sylvan Lake on Saturday.

Not the start the Sun Devils were looking for, as the Renegades (5-2) scored four goals in less than nine minutes to grab a commanding lead early.

Before the end of the first though, Medicine Hat broke the goose egg thanks to a marker from Aidan McLean to close the gap to 4-1 at the break.

That goal didn’t faze the Renegades, as they added three more goals over the opening 10 minutes of the second frame to take a 7-1 lead.

McLean and Tanner Dynes picked up goals for Medicine Hat before the end of the period, but that set up a long hill to climb up, trailing 7-3.

Medicine Hat’s Noah Weimer scored early in the third to make it a 7-4 game, but that’s as close as the Sun Devils would get as they fell by a 11-6 final score.

The Sun Devils have now lost their last four straight games and have seen their record dip to 3-6.

Returning home for the first time since April 30, Medicine Hat welcomes the undefeated Lethbridge Barracudas (9-0) to town on Saturday at 5:30 pm.
