Construction downtown ahead of schedule

MEDICINE HAT, AB — City staff say the first stage of construction downtown is now complete and running ahead of schedule.

The second stage of the project will begin on Monday and involves closing the intersection of South Railway and 3rd Street SE. City staff expect that it will reopen sooner than expected.

The 600 block of 3rd Street will remain a two-way until the next phase of construction is finished.

Businesses in the area will remain open.

The city said that as each stage is completed, traffic in the area will revert back to normal.
