MEDICINE HAT, AB — Seven different Tigers found the back of the net as Medicine Hat picked up their 51st win of the year with an 8-7 victory over Lethbridge in their regular season finale in front of 4,390 fans at the Canalta Centre Saturday night.

David Quenneville was the one who sent Tigers fans home happy, firing home the game-winning goal on the power play with a magnificent one timer with less than eight minutes to go.

The barn burner was started off by Steven Owre of the Tigers 34 seconds into things. Tyler Wong would tie things up with his 50th of the year for the Hurricanes four minutes and twenty seconds later.

After that the game would see five lead changes.

Trailing 6-5 heading into the third, Medicine Hat got back on even ground when Mark Rassell collected his 36th goal of the year on yet another man advantage for the Bengals. The Tigers finished the night 3 for 5 on the power play.

Michael Bullion made the start for Medicine Hat but was taken out after the first period due to illness. Duncan McGovern stopped 19 of the 23 shots he faced in relief, including a couple in the dying seconds as the ‘Canes pushed to send the game into overtime.

James Hamblin continued his strong play for the Tigers. He picked up a pair of goals for the second straight night, the second one tying things up 7-7 at the 8:33 mark of the third. Owre added three assists to go along with his opening marker to finish with four points.

Wong led the way offensively for Lethbridge. The captain split his four point night evenly between goals and assists, giving him 109 total points to end the regular season.

The Tigers now face Brandon in the opening round of the WHL playoffs. Game 1 goes Friday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. here in Medicine Hat.
