Charges laid against man shot by Edmonton police earlier this week

EDMONTON — An assault charge and various firearms counts have been laid against a man accused of brandishing a gun earlier this week at a busy Edmonton intersection.
Glenn Justin Ironchild is in hospital after he was shot by police on Monday.
Investigators allege the 36-year-old man pointed a rifle at bystanders as well as police officers arriving at the scene.
The shooting is being probed by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.
