Tigers not slowing down heading into final three games

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Central Division title may be locked up, but don’t expect the Medicine Hat Tigers to take their foot off the gas.

Three games remain on the regular season and Tigers head coach & GM Shaun Clouston says he expects the same compete level regardless of their banner-clinching victory from Saturday.

Tigers forward John Dahlstrom, who’s coming off a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win in Edmonton, preaches a similar message. In fact, the Swedish import pick says they need to turn up the intensity level with the playoffs right around the corner.

Although mathematically the Tigers still have a chance to finish first in WHL standings, all signs point towards them battling the first wild-card team in the opening round of the post-season. The Brandon Wheat Kings currently occupy that position.

Red Deer, who’s in Medicine Hat tonight, sits third in the division, two points clear of their Central Division rival Calgary Hitmen. A win for the visiting Rebels tonight, and they’ll clinch a spot in the post season.

Puck drop between the Tigers and Rebels is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Canalta Centre. Legendary play-by-play broadcaster Bob Ridley will take the mic on CHAT 94.5 FM at 6:30 p.m for the pre-game show. Follow CHAT Sports Mitch Bach on Twitter (@CHATTVMitchBach) for live updates of the game.
