Man killed at Lake Louise resort Sunday hit trees: RCMP

LAKE LOUISE, AB — RCMP have determined the cause of death after a man died at the Lake Louise Ski Resort on Sunday.

According to Global News, RCMP say the skier died from hitting a tree or trees. The 34-year-old man, who was from the Rocky Mountain House area, was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The ski resort says the man was found on the lower half of the mountain’s front side, in an area underneath the Glacier chairlift. The resort has offered its condolences to the man’s family and has also turned over all staff information from the day to the RCMP.

Police are not releasing the man’s name, as foul play is not suspected.
