MEDICINE HAT, AB — Another honour may soon be added to a well known Medicine Hat resident’s long list of achievements.

Dr. Ken Sauer has been nominated to be inducted into the city’s Sports Wall of Fame.

The Public Services Advisory Board recommends that Dr. Sauer join the city’s sports icons.

Sauer has been a big contributor to numerous local, provinical, and national sporting events.

Some of his accomplishments over the last 40 years include Vice Chairman and Director of Administration to Alberta Winter and Summer Games, Treasurer for Medicine Hat Baseball Canada Cup Society, Chairman of the City of Medicine Hat Recreation Master Plan Committee, and many more.

Dr. Sauer said it is an honour to be nominated.

“Everytime I walk by [the Wall of Fame], I look at them and I say look at all the good people there,” he said. “It would be kind of nice if I were to be approved to join that club.”

He said he has been given many honours over the course of his life, and “This is just one more of those that just says someone is apperciative of what I have tried to do.”

The Sports Wall of Fame is dedicated to showcase Medicine Hat’s sports leaders, honour significant individuals and teams, and to instill the community’s pride and identity in sports achievements.
