MEDICINE HAT, AB — Winter is not quite over for Medicine Hat.

The city saw another snowfall Saturday night into Sunday morning.   Approximately 20 cm of snow accumulated over the weekend.

Staff Sgt. Darcy Fox with the Medicine Hat Police Department reminds drivers to be cautious when driving in conditions like this.

“Roads are icy and snow covered,” he said.  “Watch your speed, allow yourself plenty of time when braking and watch for sudden stops in front of you.”

He said the city has done a pretty good job of cleaning up the main roads and no collisions have been reported due to the inclement weather.

The forecast for Sunday is a high of minus 9 with winds travelling 20km/h southeast.  The temperature will drop to minus 16 tonight.

Meteorologist with the Weather Network, Alana Cameron, said some Chinook winds are “sloping down and will bring in some temperature contrasts” later this week.
