MEDICINE HAT, AB — Of all 72 games in a regular season, this one may end up standing out the most for the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Michael Bullion recorded his first career shutout, Zach Fischer notched a goal and two assists and the black-and-orange chased their Highway 3 rival Lethbridge Hurricanes out of the Canalta Centre with a 5-0 victory.

This is the first regulation loss for the ‘Canes since January 4th. Since then, they amassed a stretch of 13-0-1-1, climbing within six points of the Tigers for the Central Division lead.

Bullion stopped all 19 shots fired his way and improves his record to 9-2 since being acquired January 1st.

The offensive onslaught began with captain Clayton Kirichenko opening the scoring late in the first period. James Hamblin, Mason Shaw, Ryan Jevne each found the back of the net along with Fischer.

Shots favoured the home-team by a landslide, finishing 38-19 when the final buzzer sounded.

Medicine Hat has now won nine of it’s last 10 games and move eight points up on Lethbridge for the Central Division lead.
