Tigers look to get back on track against Tri-City

Feb 4, 2017 | 1:01 PM

Kennewick, WA — Mason Shaw extended his league-leading active point streak to 13 games but Jaret Anderson-Dolan’s third hat trick of the year propelled the Spokane Chiefs to a 5-3 win Friday night, snapping the Tigers 5-game-win-streak in the process.

Medicine Hat jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first twenty minutes on goals by James Hamblin and Matt Bradley. Bradley’s 23rd of the year at the 18:46 mark improved his current point streak to 12 games.

Spokane would get on the board shortly into the second with a goal by Haden Ostir, then Anderson-Dolan added consecutive tallies to give the Chiefs a 3-2 lead after two periods.

Tyler Preziuso of the Tigers would tie things up 3-3 a little over two minutes into the final frame, but Anderson-Dolan sent the hats flying onto the ice at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena with his 27th goal of the year near the midway mark of the third. An insurance goal from Keanu Yamamoto with 1:15 left to play secured the win for Spokane.

With the loss the Tigers remain winless against US Division opponents on the season (0-4-0-0). Tonight they have one final chance to snap the streak when they take on the Tri-City Americans at 8:05 pm MST.
