PC baby food being recalled due to botulism risk

Loblaw Co., which also operatres the Superstore grocery chain, is recalling a specific baby food product due to the potential presence of dangerous bacteria.

PC Organics Apple, BlueBerry and Green Pea strained baby food could permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. Food contaminated by the bacteria won’t always look or smell spoiled but can make someone sick if ingested. According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) Symptoms include naseau, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, blurred or double vision, dry mouth and respiratory issues.

The 128 ml product should be thrown out or returned to where it was purchased.

There have been no reported illnesses from consumption of this product.
