Unique event in support of food bank

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Family Leisure Centre will be the location for a unique event in March to benefit the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank. It’s called Canstruction Medicine Hat, and involves teams of 5 people using cans and other food items to build different structures. The 3D “canstructions” typically consists of at least two thousand cans, which are then donated to the food bank once the event is completed.
It’s hoped it will become an annual event. Competitors have a chance to advance to international Canstruction competitions.
Registrations are being taken until January 31st. The Canstruction event is March 20th from 9 until 5 at the Family Leisure Centre. The creations will remain on display for one week before they are “de-CanStructed” and the canned food is donated to the food bank.
