BROOKS, AB — The most accomplished Brooks Bandit in franchise history is returning to the city which helped blossom his career.

Goaltender Chad Johnson will become the first Bandit inducted into the new Smith Group Wall of Fame on Friday. The 30-year-old netminder, who now plays for the Calgary Flames, played two seasons with the Bandits from ’03-04 to ’04-05.

Johnson’s impact in the Bandits organization continues to live on today. In his second season, the Calgary, AB product posted a .923 save percentage, leading his team to it’s first ever playoff birth. That save percentage still stands as the best in franchise history.

Fans have the chance to meet Johnson prior to puck drop. He’ll host an autograph session from 6:00pm – 6:20pm inside the Centennial Regional Arena. The Brooks Bandits will dawn Johnson-themed warm-up jerseys, resembling the same jerseys Johnson wore over a decade ago.

A special ceremony honouring the Flames netminder will begin at 7:00pm, prior to puck drop.

Tickets for Chad Johnson Night are still available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca, in person at the Bandits office at the CRA, or by phone at (403) 501-0122.
