Defenseman Jordan Henderson wasn’t in Saskatoon very long, but long enough for tonight’s game to mean that much more.

After spending 20 games with the Blue and White, the 19-year-old from Surrey, B.C. returns to his former home to battle the Blades. Only this time, he’ll dawn black-and-orange with his new Tigers team.

“It’s going to be mixed emotions,” said Henderson, who was traded to Medicine Hat on January 5th. “it’s kind of weird, but I’m really excited to go in there and just work to get that win. I think it’s really important for us to get a good start on this road trip, and I think (Saskatoon) is a good team to play against.”

Henderson’s only goal this season came with Saskatoon. Since joining the Tabbies, he’s collected two helpers in four games, adding to his season total of 10 points. Henderson was traded from Spokane after spending two and a half seasons with the Chiefs.

Goaltender Michael Bullion is the confirmed starter for tonight’s contest. This is the second straight game for the Tigers latest addition to the crease. Bullion stopped 18 of 21 fired his way last Friday in a 7-3 win over the Swift Current Broncos.

“I think Saskatoon is a pretty hard working team,” added Bullion. “Our compete needs to be up. I think we have the skill to win the game. We need to bring our compete just as much as we would against Regina, Brandon, any of those teams.”

After tonight’s game in Saskatoon, the Tigers head to the provincial capital to battle the CHL’s top ranked team, the Regina Pats. That’s followed by a trip to Brandon, MB to battle the Wheat Kings on Saturday. Medicine Hat returns home on Sunday, but finishes a four game stretch away from the Canalta Centre against the Kootenay Ice next Tuesday.

Puck drop tonight from the SaskTel Centre is 7:05pm local time.
