Changes coming to Cypress County Fire Department

DUNMORE, AB — The Cypress County Fire Department is looking to make some changes in the new year.

A master plan to increase efficiency and effectiveness has been developed and was recently approved by council. The plan lists over 40 recommendations from new training methods to record management.

The Fire Service Board will be monitoring the recommendations and making amendments as they roll them out over the next few years.

Anna Mast with Cypress County says the idea behind the master plan is to maximize fire services in the community while minimizing risk.

“We’re quite proud of the fire services within Cypress County,” she said.  “With this plan, if all the recommendations move forward as presented, it’s just going to make it a better service, a higher level of service.”
