Beau Scott Thompson
October 22nd, 1977 – July 30th, 2026
Beau Scott Thompson passed away on July 30th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, cherished memories and infectious smiles. Born October 22, 1977, in Calgary, Alberta. Beau is survived by his parents, Eileen and Paul Erb; brother, Cody (Lonnie) Thompson; sister, Brandi (Mike) Gleaves; stepbrother, Michael (Leanne) Erb; stepsisters, Michelle (Mike) Hutchings and Mel (April) Erb along with nieces and nephews, Aiden, Gradin, Lilly, Catcher, Cara, Logan, Shandree, Shane, and Jordyn. Beau is predeceased by his biological father, Jim Thompson, and paternal and maternal grandparents.
He had a curious spirit and an open mind that welcomed both people and adventure, finding pure joy where others may forget to look. He found peace outdoors, whether on a quiet hiking trail, snowboarding down a snow-covered mountain, playing hockey, or teeing up on a golf course. He had a passion for teaching/coaching and spent a number of years coaching minor hockey. Beau could often be found playing either a round of darts or guitar and singing while busking or putting his fear aside and trying his hand at the local open mic. Beau welcomed life with curiosity and kindness, believing there was something worthwhile in every new experience and every person he met.
He poured his energy into fulfilling the lives of those around him. He loved his family and friends greatly and enjoyed spending time, especially with his nieces and nephews, where he could be a kid at heart again.
Beau touched the lives of so many people and graced them with humility, a friendly laugh or an infectious smile. Though his journey was shorter than anyone wished, those who loved him will remember a man whose greatest gift was his capacity for compassion. He offered grace to others, though sometimes found it hard to offer the same to himself. His story reminds us that a person’s heart is defined by the love they give along the way. He leaves behind a family who truly loves him and will miss him greatly. To a soul gone too soon, we will see you again in time. Until then, rest easy and smile down on us all!
A reception to honour Beau will be announced at a later date. Condolences may be made at www.gracememorial.com. Arrangements are made by GRACE MEMORIAL AFFORDABLE BURIAL & CREMATION 1924 10th Ave NW, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1C 1T5 403-905-0440 info@gracememorial.com.
