It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ralph Chevlekly of Medicine Hat, announce his passing on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 69 years. Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on August 23, 1956, Ralph was affectionately known as “Chevy”, a nickname inspired by the many creative ways people interpreted – or misinterpreted – his name. Ralph live a quiet and private life, valuing independence and simplicity. He enjoyed watching sporting events, learning about history and keeping up with current events. His life was marked not by public recognition but by quiet perseverance and self-reliance. He was a private man who asked little of the world. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Gene and Linda Chevlekly, and his brother Robert Chevlekly. He is survived by his sister Loris (Darrell) Schuetzle, and niece Dana Wright (Luke Gorny), who will lovingly carry his memory with them always. He will also be fondly remembered by his Aunt Lily and Aunt Marita, along with his many cousins, all of whom reside in Ontario. In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held with his family.
