MEDICINE HAT, AB — The City of Medicine Hat has a new way to help residents beat the winter blues.
The Parks and Recreation Department has installed a Crokicurl ice sheet for residents to use during the winter months. The sheet is located near the Strathcona Island Park entrance.
Crokicurl, which combines the board game crokinole and curling, has been seen in several other cities. Players attempt to put the plastic curling rocks closest to the bullseye to score points, and try to knock away the other team’s rocks.
Plastic jugs are provided onsite to use for the game.
