Province of Alberta updates river conditions, road closures as heavy rain eases
While rainfall warnings issued by Environment & Climate Change Canada for a large section of Alberta have now ended, residents living near rivers are likely to be on edge in the coming hours and, possibly, days.
In an update Monday evening, the Province of Alberta said flood watches, flood warnings, and high streamflow advisories, remained in place for several river basins.
It added there were also local states-of-emergency for Canmore and the Kananaskis Improvement District.
Access restrictions and localized closures, it said, are in effect for Kananaskis Country, including portions of Highway 40 and the Smith Dorrien Trail.
