Rainfall warning in place for Southern Alberta

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Medicine Hat as heavy rain and thunderstorms move across southern Alberta.

The weather agency says 40 to 80 millimetres of rain is expected through Monday, with some areas possibly receiving more than 80 millimetres where thunderstorms develop.

The rain is forecast to taper off by Tuesday morning.

Forecasters warn the heavy rainfall could lead to water pooling on roads and in low-lying areas, while visibility may be reduced suddenly during downpours.
