MONTREAL — The Montréal Victoire have signed forward Emma Maltais to a two-year contract, the reigning Professional Women’s Hockey League champions announced Tuesday.

The 26-year-old two-time Olympian played her first three PWHL seasons in Toronto, appearing in every game with the Sceptres.

She had 10 points (three goals, seven assists) last season while centring the second line. She has 38 points (11 goals, 27 assists) in 84 career regular-season games, as well as two goals and four assists in nine playoff contests.

Maltais was selected in the second round of the inaugural PWHL draft and was a rookie of the year finalist in the league’s first season. She was the first PWHL player to score a short-handed goal.

She joins a Victoire team fresh off its first Walter Cup title and led by superstar Marie-Philip Poulin, Maltais’s teammate on the women’s national team.

Internationally, Maltais helped Canada win Olympic gold in 2022 and silver earlier this year. She also has three gold and two silver medals from five world championship appearances.
