The Medicine Hat Police Service have charged three individuals with robbery-related offences following an alleged home invasion in the city’s southeast early Monday that saw officers arrest six occupants of a residence and determine three suspects had forced their way inside while armed.

Medicine Hat police said officers responded to a 911 call from a home on Ross Street SE at about 12:59 a.m. on June 22, with dispatchers reportedly hearing sounds of a disturbance during the call.

Officers arrived shortly afterward and observed an exterior door open and directed all occupants to leave the residence, and six people exited and were taken into custody without incident.

During an investigation, police determined three individuals had allegedly forced their way into the home and confronted occupants with weapons.

As a result, 46-year old Trevor Muise of Redcliff was charged with break and enter to commit robbery, disguise with intent, three counts of uttering threats, three counts of unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Medicine Hat’s Keera Whiteford-Wall, 40, has been charged with break and enter to commit robbery, disguise with intent, three counts of uttering threats and three counts of unlawful confinement.

And 55-year-old Corey Straub, of Medicine Hat, faces the same charges as Whiteford-Wall.

Police said all three accused were held for judicial interim release hearings and remanded into custody, who are scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat provincial court on June 24.

No injuries were reported, with police saying all parties involved were known to one another, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
