Brooks Bandits acquire forward Van Tassel from Langley Rivermen

The Brooks Bandits have acquired 2006-born forward Makaio Van Tassel from the Langley Rivermen for future considerations.
The British Columbia Hockey League lists him as 5-foot-8, 164 pounds. He played 40 regular-season games with the Rivermen in 2025-26, with 31 points, including 11 goals and 20 assists. He added three points in seven playoff games.
Van Tassel also played four games with the North American Hockey League’s Anchorage Wolverines this past season, with three assists.
Van Tassel was a member of the BCHL’s Nanaimo Clippers in 2024-25. During that season, he had 22 points with 11 goals and 11 assists in 40 games. He added three points in five playoff games.
