The Bandlands Sun Devils Junior B Lacrosse team dropped a pair of games on the weekend.

On Saturday, in front of a home crowd at the Kinplex Arena, the Calgary Wranglers were too much for the Sun Devils in a 12-4 loss.

A quick start had the Wranglers out to a 6-1 lead after the first period. The game stayed close the rest of the way, but that deficit was too much to recover from for the Sun Devils.

Scoring for the Sun Devils were Ryley McKinley with a pair, with Ty Hynes and Hunter Skrove each getting one.

On Sunday, the Sun Devils travelled to Airdrie to take on the Rockyview Rage.

The Sun Devils had a strong start, leading 5-2 after the first, and 10-6 after the second period.

The third period would be their downfall, as the Rage scored five unanswered to win 11-10.

Hynes led the way offensively for the Sun Devils with eight points, including five goals and three assists.

The Sun Devils’ captain Skrove, had three goals and an assist for four points.

The remaining Sun Devils goals came from Brolin Vanderspruit and Keaton Bower.

Alternate captain Quade Vanderspruit also had three assists for the Sun Devils.

Next up for the Sun Devils is a game at the Kinplex on Saturday, June 13 at 8 p.m.

It will be a challenge as they face the undefeated South Alberta Chaos from Taber.

The Sun Devils will then travel to Didsbury on Sunday to play the winless Mountain View Stingers.
