The Monsignor McCoy Senior Varsity team won the Alberta Premier Baseball League Championship on Thursday night.
They beat the back-to-back previous champions, Catholic Central High School Cougars, 13-11 in Lethbridge at Lloyd Nolan Yard.
It wasn’t looking promising early for the Colts, as the Cougars jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first two innings.
A scoreless third inning was followed by a massive nine-run top of the fourth for the Colts as they jumped out to a 10-5 lead.
