Poll asks rural farmers, ranchers about veterinary services in their area

Rural producers across our province are being asked for their input on veterinary services.

The survey is intended to gather input from Alberta farmers and ranchers on the importance of veterinary services as it relates to agricultural productivity, animal health, and business viability.

Besides the usual ‘type of livestock’ question, it polls the respondent on access to a vet, wait times, and any financial impact, in the past, that waiting for animal care might have had.

One of the key questions also asks if a producer believes that including veterinarians in the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program would help recruit and retain more vets in rural Alberta?
