Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA Wright named Alberta Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services

Justin Wright has been appointed Alberta’s minister of primary and preventative health services, marking a new cabinet role for the Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA under Premier Danielle Smith.

Wright is taking over responsibility for the role, replacing Adriana LaGrange as part of a cabinet shift.

In a statement released on Friday, Wright expressed gratitude and humility following his appointment and said the new role immediately brought his attention back to the people of Cypress-Medicine Hat.

Wright credited the community for shaping him as both a representative and a person since first being elected, adding that he does not take that trust for granted.

Reflecting on his time as MLA for the riding, Wright said serving in the role is among the greatest honours of his life, pointing to ongoing conversations over the past three years with families, seniors, health-care workers and community leaders as key influences on his priorities.
