Alberta names members to Teachers Advisory Council

The Government of Alberta has appointed to a new Teachers Advisory Council.

The TAC will help shape K-12 education policy and have 16 members, according to a release.

“As classrooms grow more complex, this teacher advisory council will play a key role in helping Alberta’s government deliver meaningful, classroom-focused policy solutions,” says Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides.

“By bringing front-line teacher perspectives directly into the policy process, the council will help ensure decisions are informed by real classroom experience and focused on supporting student success and teacher well-being.”

Council members are:

  • Danella Aichele, Rocky View School Division
  • Lindsey Bates, Buffalo Trail School Division
  • Jenelle Boytinck, Edmonton School Division
  • Nadia Carinelli, Calgary Catholic School Division
  • Robert Duiker, Wild Rose School Division
  • Kelden Formosa, Alberta Classical Academy
  • Jesse Gamble, Lethbridge School Division
  • Angela Grammatikos, Calgary Board of Education
  • Keith Griffioen, Lethbridge School Division
  • Jeffrey Hill, Westwind School Division
  • Logyn Jacksteit, Prairie Rose School Division
  • Matthew Kierstead, Fort Vermilion School Division
  • Kathy Rast, Livingstone Range School Division
  • Denise Russell, Webber Academy
  • Bailee Tirschmann, Edmonton School Division
  • Marnie Weber, Grasslands School Division

The province says 174 teachers applied to participate.
