The South Alberta Hockey Academy (SAHA) has Coach of the Year nominees for all four of its programs.

The Canadian Sports School Hockey League has been naming its award nominees over the past week.

SAHA was especially dominant in the Coach of the Year category for each age division.

Nominated are U18 Prep head coach Brayden Desjardins, Female U18 Prep head coach Evan Vossen, U17 Prep head coach Jaeger White, and the head coach of the U15 Prep team, Cullen Bradshaw, who is also up for the award in the program’s inaugural year.

There are three nominees for each division and award category.

Also nominated for awards last week are a pair of players for the Top Defensive Forward Award: Damen Vandeberg for the CSSHL U18 Prep, and Carter Gilchrist for the CSSHL U17 Prep.

Medicine Hat Tigers prospect Cash Christie is a CSSHL U18 Prep Top Goaltender Finalist for his season with SAHA.

He isn’t the lone netminder from SAHA nominated, as Chase Nielson is a CSSHL U17 Prep Top Goaltender Finalist.

A CSSHL Female U18 Prep Top Defenseman Finalist is Sophie Erlam.

Named to the U15 Prep Top Rookie (2012 Born) team for the Prairies is forward Rowan Oddie.

The Female U18 Prep Top Freshman (2010 born) team for the Prairies includes forward Riley Bourque.

SAHA also had a strong showing for its Alumnus with the NHL Central Scouting Final Ranking for the upcoming draft.

There were five North American skaters ranked.

Former Tigers forward Gavin McKenna holds down the number one ranking, a pair of current Tigers, defenceman Riley Steen and forward Kadon McCann, are at 146 and 185.

Medicine Hat local Josh Evaschesen, a forward who played this season with the WHL’s Kamloops Blazers, is ranked 187, and Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Gavin Lesiuk is ranked 189.
