Mounties respond to multiple calls on Highway 1 between Brooks and Bassano Friday morning

Officers from both the Brooks and Bassano RCMP detachments responded to multiple calls of collisions and vehicles in ditches on Highway 1 between the two communities on Friday morning.

At 9:25 a.m. on Friday, Mounties had stated that the area near Range Road 154 was particularly bad.

RCMP were not recommending travel in this area at that time, as road surfaces were icy and heavy fog was limiting visibility.

At 10:35 a.m., officers and emergency crews reported that they had cleared all emergency scenes between Brooks and Bassano with significant improvement in visibility and road conditions in that area.
