Medicine Hat Police Service lowers flags to honour officer killed in line of duty

The Medicine Hat Police Service has lowered the flags outside the station to half-mast in honour of an officer killed in the line of duty.
The flags will be lowered until sunset on April 29, 2026.
MHPS, along with policing partners across Canada are mourning the death of Sgt. Anaïs Fortin-Cozzens of the Sûreté du Québec, giving heartfelt condolences to family, friends, and colleagues.
To honour Sgt. Fortin-Cozzens’ service and sacrifice, officers are also authorized to wear memorial ribbons during this period as a sign of respect and solidarity.
